Welcome - Kia Ora - 大家好

Thanks for your interest in this weekend Qigong Workshop. My name's Gregg Wagstaff and I've recently settled near Motueka with my wife Sarah and 6-year old son, Xiao. I've been an Instructor for the Chinese Da Yan (Wild Goose) Qigong Association since 2002 and trained in the UK and China under Master Chan Kim Fung (Hong Kong) and Master Wang Tai Li (Beijing). I'm also a UK qualified Acupuncturist and Tui Na (Chinese Medical Massage) practitioner. Between 2004 - 2017, I ran a successful clinic treating clients with various types of pain, dysfunction or 'disorder', plus helped others achieve optimal health and wellness. In 2016, I created the Da Yan Academy - a dedicated online platform to teach authentic Wild Goose Qigong. Today, I bring all of this experience to offer health coaching, 1-to-1 training, classes, workshops and retreats. Wild Goose Qigong remains at the core of my personal and professional practice. I hope you'll join me for this New Zealand Wild Goose Qigong workshop @ Kina Beach.

Here's what you'll learn on this workshop...

Saturday | Wild Goose Qigong Pai Da Gong

On the Saturday, we'll be learning the Wild Goose Pai Da Gong form (also know as ‘Patting Gong' or Body Strengthening by Patting). It is an essential shorter exercise (4-mins) from the system. Its moves are relatively less technical and physically demanding, making it suitable for all ages and abilities, particularly the elderly or those with a weak constitution. Pai Da Gong is a very effective and comprehensive gong - working Yin & Yang channels of legs and arms, Dai Mai, San Jiao. It can benefit lumbo-sacral issues, sciatic problems and neuropathy of the limbs. Patting is great to clear stagnation in the body. It helps promote blood and lymph circulation, bone density and more…

*** When you enrol in the Saturday workshop, you will receive immediate lifetime access to this Da Yan Academy online course, so you can continue to learn and practise in your own time and place. This course usually sells for $65 NZD.

Saturday & Sunday | Wild Goose Qigong Meditation / Jing Gong

On Saturday and Sunday, the moving exercises will be complemented by Wild Goose Wu Xing Jing Gong, which is the fundamental meditation practice in the Wild Goose system. I prefer to think of this practice as ‘Cultivating Stillness’. You can practise this simply sitting on a chair. Jing Gong should be practised in tandem with the dynamic Dong Gong exercises, as they mutually reinforce and promote the cultivation and internal mobilization of Qi. Wu Xing Jing Gong comprises five different methods, which can achieve ‘Small & Large Heavenly Circuits’ and strong external Qi fields. The first two methods will be taught at this workshop. Contemporary research and neuroscience further recognise the benefits of regular meditation including; increased immunity, empathy, focus; improved cardiovascular health and stress reduction.

*** When you enrol in one or both days of the workshop you will receive immediate lifetime access to this Da Yan Academy online course, so you can continue to learn and practise in your own time and place. This course usually sells for $65 NZD.

Sunday | Wild Goose Qigong Kidney Gong

On the Sunday, we will be learning the Wild Goose Kidney Gong (or Kidney Strengthening Gong), which is part of a set of exercises practised specifically to nourish or treat particular Zang Fu / ‘organs’ of the body. The Kidney ‘patterns’ (as described in Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine theory) are always deficient - exacerbated by overwork, stress, lack of sleep and ageing. This is a gentle moving exercise (Dong Gong), designed to strengthening the Kidney energies by way of tapping Kidney Shu, Ming Men points, waist-turning, whilst also nourishing the Lungs.

*** When you enrol in the Sunday workshop you will receive receive immediate lifetime access to this Da Yan Academy online course, so you can continue to learn and practise in your own time and place. This course usually sells for $65 NZD.

What Others Are Saying...

"I'd recommend Gregg to anyone interested in learning authentic Wild Goose (Dayan) Qigong. He is a good instructor. He has good knowledge of Dayan Qigong and TCM and is both calm and patient when he teaches. After spending a couple of years learning with Gregg, he helped me to go to China to learn from his teachers. It was something I'd always dreamed of! Dayan Qigong is one of the few qigong systems that still carries a lot of depth! It never ceases to amaze me as I continue to explore its movements and teachings! "

Adam Gibson
Qigong Instructor @ Lotus Dao, Lithuania

"I am a health care practitioner and have always had an interest in Chinese Martial Arts and Qigong. Having two children now, I really appreciate the time I have with them and want to be agile and able to continue to be an active part of their lives for years to come. This pushed me towards Wild Goose Qigong. Practicing Wild Goose Qigong has much improved my stamina, confidence and overall well-being. I enjoy training and feel invigorated even after a short practice.

1-to-1 Online Coaching Sessions with Gregg have been great as they really pointed out where I had made errors, improved my skill and provided great motivation to take it on to the next level. I highly recommend Gregg and his online Da Yan Academy - the videos are great and the explanations of the moves really easy to follow. "
